I love the story of this SoureenGMO clone because there is nothing to it other than peer to peer selection for quality, not a COA to be found just old fashioned human selection. Back in 2018 I was doing a run of Dead & Company shows from New York into Ohio when Pipsweed from Souvenir Seeds saw that I was in his hometown and kindly offered to drop some flower samples by my hotel. Out of the ridiculous selection of 10 of the top US elite clones, the one that stood out above all others for me was the Irene Kush, a cut that had been dominating the Southeast US Atlanta weed scene for years and I would rank Pipsweed’s sample in the top 3 flowers I have smoked ever. After hearing Irene was my favourite, Pipsweed sent me some very limited run one off Soureen seeds he had made (Irene x Chaco Sour Diesel), limited because Sour Diesel clones don’t produce economically viable amounts of pollen when reversed. Back in Canada, I selected the nicest Soureen based purely on quality effect and loud complex fuel profile for my personal stash. My friend Kai in Vancouver at the time was working at a large extract lab and looking for unique profile extract strains and really liked the Soureen which he decided to include in a reversal run of his other favourite; GMO. For several years seeds from this reversal project were grown out at scale by multiple groups in BC and Ontario and the ones that kept rising to the top were the Soureen x GMO. From these, one selected by Kai stood out above the others, just as loud as pure GMO but with a more refined fuel centric flavour profile layered over GMO’s classic skunk funk, medium sized highly botrytis resistant rock hard flowers that burn pure white ash when finished properly on a large Sour Diesel type frame. This SoureenGMO cut drops huge flower yields with killer bag appeal and plant vigour that might even beat GMO. Untested for washing atm but good prospects as Sour Diesel and GMO are two of the top known washers on the market. We consider this SoureenGMO cut as superior to any other fuel/gas clone we have seen in Canada to date.
